About the same time that Jill's son was born, so was a magazine called Time Out New York Kids. Everyone knew Time Out New York as a hip venue to turn to to find out what's happening around town.  Now there was an equally on-top of events venue to turn to for everything kid-friendly in New York.  It was perfect.  Jill needed relief from that journalism universe where people spoke in full-sentences and carried out complete conversations without interruptions.  She needed to work with people who were used to loud voices, swirling situations and the unexpected.  Jill wrote about everything from where and how to play pick-up softball to educational programs, to finding the best holiday lights, to throwing space-themed birthday parties to ice skating rinks around the city.
